5) Handmade Crafts

Look around departmental stores and gift shops for cheap handmade crafts made from seashells, wooden photo frames painted in rainbow colors and decorate objects from recycled items.

Buy what your dad needs, NOT WHAT YOU WANT.

Many people fancy cute decorations and stuff but may not suit your dad, maybe due to his age , he doesn't know how to use it or he doesn't need it either.

Eventually, dad might put the unsuitable handmade craft on the shelf to collect cobwebs and dust.

Hence, look around dad’s desk and survey what item is essential for him.

  • If he uses an empty jar to keep his writing tools, buy a nicely decorated pencil holder for dad.
  • If he uses a box to keep spare coins or handphone, buy a recycled moneybox or money bowl for the spare coins and attractive handphone holder for him.

7) Give Dad a Cheap Treat

Dad is always busy with work, earning hard earned money everyday. He always put his family interest first, very often neglected himself without realizing it.

I am sure you would agree with me that dad pays almost all the expenses at home, education for kids and health insurances to cover the whole family.

This Father's Day will be a great day for you to offer your dad a day out for a cheap treat at any cheap menus restaurant or hawker stalls which is among your budget.

Dad doesn't mind even if it is an ice-cream treat or a tea for two. It's the thought that counts.

You can take dad to lunch or dinner at roti-prata shop or have a tea-time together by the roadside stall and have a good long chat with him.

Buy him a slice of his favorite cake to surprise him. I am sure he will blushed with rosy cheeks.

Dads are always shy with surprises. Keep in mind that dad wants you to spend more time with him rather than how much the treat cost.

Anyway, do INSIST that you treat him.
